Come and enjoy our newest Storybook Trail at Dr. Robert L. Nehls Memorial Nature Preserve!
The storybook walking trail, which winds a loop through a restored pollinator meadow and along the water’s edge, is open to the public from dawn to dusk. New books will be installed monthly.
This month’s featured title is Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn, written and illustrated by Kenard Pak. As trees sway in the cool breeze, blue jays head south, and leaves change their colors, everyone knows–autumn is on its way! Join a young girl as she takes a walk through the forest and town, greeting all the signs of the coming season. In a series of conversations with every flower and creature and gust of wind, she says goodbye to summer and welcomes autumn.
Nehls Storybook Trail is funded through a generous grant from the Recreational Trail Program, a cooperative project of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Federal Highway Administration. We are partnering with the Catawba Little Free Library Stewards to help maintain and install the storybooks.
