Wintergarden Woods / St. John’s Nature preserve is a beloved community park owned and operated by the Bowling Green City Parks & Recreation Department. The Preserve provides miles of hiking/walking trails with many loop options that meander through acres and acres of forests and prairie meadows. Full-time naturalists on staff host a variety of programs year-round.
In 2020, Black Swamp Conservancy acquired 20 acres of land adjacent to the existing park and donated to Bowling Green; to be used as an expansion of its existing public park. We now hold a conservation agreement permanently protecting the entire 100-acre preserve.
