Bell Woods / Pat and Clint Mauk’s Prairie is located next to the Conservancy’s headquarters at 4825 Sugar Ridge Road, Pemberville.
Pat and Clint’s Prairie features thirty acres of native prairie habitat and contains several prairie pothole wetlands. A one-mile public trail runs through the prairie and includes a Storybook Trail with books updated monthly. The prairie is open to the public from dawn until dusk. Visitors can park in the lot behind our office.
Bell Woods contains 80 acres and is one of the few remnants of the historic Great Black Swamp that retains the land’s natural characteristics. It is known for its spectacular spring wildflower blooms and Great blue heron rookery. In order to protect its sensitive species and habitats, Bell Woods is closed to public access except for guided tours.
