Rotary Riverside Preserve Dedication & Picnic

You’re invited to join us as we dedicate the new Rotary Riverside Preserve and enjoy a celebratory picnic. We’ll meet at American Freedom Energy / Grandma’s General Store and provide group transportation to the tree-planting site located a few miles away.
This free event is open to everyone, including Rotarians, non-Rotarians and guests, and the picnic lunch will be provided.
With funding support from 12 Rotary Clubs within Rotary District 6600, Black Swamp Conservancy will plant 6,600 trees on 61 acres to restore area wetlands. 6,000 of the saplings will surround 600 bigger trees, which will be bagged to ensure they survive.
These trees will act as a natural filtration for a cleaner Maumee River and restore the beauty of the area. The property is being restored from frequently flooded farmland within the river’s floodplain to natural habitats.
Rotary Club funding, along with a District Grant, totaled $36,000 to enhance this project being completed by the Conservancy and the H2Ohio program.
