Turn a walk into storytime at Pat & Clink Mauk’s Prairie on the Conservancy’s homestead property.

November’s featured title is In November, written by Cynthia Rylant and illustrated by Jill Kastner. With lyrical prose and rich, cozy illustrations, In November beautifully captures how the world around us prepares for winter.

Each month, the StoryWalk features a different book about the natural world, as well as accompanying extended learning opportunities. Stories highlight the value of land that is preserved and share information about animals and native plants that might be nearby to encourage exploration.

Parents and teachers are invited to bring children of all ages to enjoy the trail from dawn to dusk. We also hold a monthly drawing from the visitor sign-in sheets for a copy of the featured book!

Pat & Clint Mauk’s Prairie is located at 4825 Sugar Ridge Road in Pemberville, Ohio on the Conservancy’s Homestead property. The one-mile public walk is on mown paths, accessible to people using strollers or wheelchairs. StoryWalk was made possible by Seed-To-The-Sower, a donor-advised fund of the Greater Toledo Community Foundation. No registration is needed and there is no cost to walk the trail.
