The Conservancy purchased the Blanchard River Nature Preserve in 2013 and donated it to the Hancock County Park District for use as a public park.
Home to six rare species, two of which are federally endangered, the property contains a mile and a half of natural river corridor and is the beginning point of the Blanchard River Water Trail.
