Located in Catawba Island Township, this 19-acre preserve protects a mature hardwood forest along a major migratory bird route. Each season, birds pass through this stretch of woods, relying on it for rest, food, and shelter.
Quinstock Woods is one of two key conservation properties secured by the Black Swamp Conservancy through support from the Clean Ohio Green Space Conservation Program. Nearby, West Harbor Preserve sits along the Lake Erie shoreline, while Dr. Robert L. Nehls Memorial Nature Preserve adds to a growing network of protected land.
Together, these places form a connected landscape in an area facing strong development pressure. This forest provides essential habitat for wildlife and helps maintain the natural balance of Catawba Island for both people and native species.
Quinstock Woods Preserve is closed to public access. For more information on this property, please contact Melanie Coulter.
