Meet Our Summer Interns: Elle Stacy

We are excited to introduce our 2026 summer interns! Throughout the summer, we will highlight each intern, who plays an incredibly important role on our team and in our work.

To start, meet Elle Stacy, a field crew intern who brings her passion and dedication for conservation to Black Swamp Conservancy for her second summer.

Elle recently graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor’s in Biology focused on conservation and ecology. Her passion for the outdoors started young but sharpened during her first year of college. Though she always appreciated nature and animals, her first biology seminar opened her eyes to the environment and its importance, deepening her appreciation for the world she inhabits.

Elle’s journey with Black Swamp Conservancy began as a step toward working for the good of nature and has continued to fuel that passion. As a returning team member, Elle has greatly supported her fellow first-year members. Easy to talk to, patient, reliable, and full of knowledge, Elle is making great strides toward her goals and empowering those around her to do the same.

When she’s not in the field or on a tractor, Elle explores a variety of personal hobbies. “I tend to cycle through my hobbies depending on my interest level at the time,” she shares. Those hobbies include reading, watercolor, tennis, whittling, and recently, leather crafting.

Whether learning a new hobby or a skill in the field, Elle’s top goal in her current and future roles is to learn as much as possible.

We are thrilled to have Elle Stacy back on the summer crew this year and look forward to the positive impact she will have on our preserves and her crew members. We are excited to support her journey and ambitions to care for and nurture the world around her and cannot wait to share another incredible summer with her.

Welcome back, Elle!
