Enjoy a Stroll Through Wildflowers in Full Bloom
Visitors always ask us about the beautiful prairie next door the Conservancy’s office. This restoration site is privatley owned and generally not open to the public, until now…
Enjoy a stroll through wildflowers in full bloom at the Sugar Ridge Prairie.
Sugar Ridge Prairie is located adjacent to the new Black Swamp Conservancy Homestead – at 4825 Sugar Ridge Road, Pemberville. The prairie features a 1-mile mowed trail that is open to the general public from dawn until dusk, now through Labor Day.
When visiting the prairie, we only request that you treat all plants and animals with respect. The prairie provides nesting shelter for birds and the wetland restorations are still fragile – we therefore ask that you remain on the trail.
Parking is available in the Black Swamp Conservancy parking lot, with overflow at the Eastwood Schools lot directly across the road.
