Celebrate Conservation in Northwest Ohio

Black Swamp Conservancy’s 7th annual fundraiser, Bluegrass & Green Acres, has changed locations for its 2018 event. The Malawi Event Center at Toledo Zoo is the setting for the March 16 celebration, which begins at 6:30 p.m.

We’re excited to be featuring the Mark Lavengood Band this year. And, as usual, we have some unique auction items, including:

  • A chance to be the first to stay in Metropark’s newest cabin, being built now on Granger Island – including a guided paddle and catered dinner.
  • A suite rental for a Mud Hens game, complete with a behind-the-scenes tour of Fifth Third Field.
  • The opportunity to spend a morning at a top secret location, banding birds during the spring migration, followed by a picnic on a private beach.

Thanks to sponsors Buckeye Broadband, Conservation Realty Group, DuPont Pioneer, Eastman & Smith, Envirocare Lawn & Landscape, Key Bank, Mannik & Smith Group, Ohio Environmental Council, Ohio Farmer’s Union, RCO Law, River Reach Construction, Rudolph Libbe, Scotts Company, Signature Bank, The Collaborative, The Nature Conservancy, Toledo City Paper, Trust Company and Waterford Bank for supporting our efforts again this year. And welcome new sponsors DEWESoft, Huntington Bank, Hylant, Medical Mutual, Meijer, ProMedica and Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick to the team!

Proceeds from the evening support Black Swamp Conservancy’s conservation and restoration work to protect northwest Ohio’s valuable natural resources. Since its founding 25 years ago, the Conservancy has permanently protected 17,000 acres to support Clean Water, Good Food & Wild Places throughout our region.

Early-bird tickets are available only through Sunday, Feb. 25. Get information about Bluegrass & Green Acres, and your tickets, here.
