Photo exhibit heads to UT’s Lake Erie Center

It’s long been said that a picture is worth 1,000 words, and it’s absolutely the case with the photos we selected for our Great Black Swamp Photo Exhibit at the University of Toledo’s Lake Erie Center in Oregon.

Photos illustrating the effects of draining the Great Black Swamp were selected for this exhibit, along with before and after photos of a Forrest Woods restoration project. And we had to include some of our beautiful artistic photos for this exhibit, such as those showcasing trillium and lotus flowers.

Situated adjacent to Maumee Bay State Park, the Lake Erie Center is a research and educational facility focused on environmental conditions and aquatic resources in Maumee Bay and western Lake Erie. The Center is involved in a wide range of laboratory and Lake Erie research projects, including a harmful algal bloom early warning buoy program that has become a forecasting tool for the region.

The exhibit, which is hung in a rotunda of the building’s main lobby, is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and during evening events, through February. Check their website for upcoming events.
